Watch: Sarah Silverman Has A Nervous Breakdown Over MAGA 2024

Comedian Sarah Silverman sounded the alarm over a recent poll showing former President Donald Trump beating current President Joe Biden in key swing states. She described the results as “really scary for liberals” on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

As host, Silverman urged the 81-year-old Biden to “wake up,” clapping at the camera. She was referencing a New York Times/Siena College poll showing Trump leading Biden in five of six crucial swing states.

The poll indicates more voters are souring on Biden’s presidency, marked by high inflation, illegal immigration, and global conflicts. The Times said Biden faces “enormous doubts about his age and deep dissatisfaction” on issues he’s handling.

Silverman, who campaigned for Biden in 2020, clearly didn’t take the news well, warning liberals not to panic but that the situation is “actually scary.” She quipped Biden could “absolutely die in his sleep instead” of definitely losing.

The poll underscores growing discontent with the Biden administration among independent voters in battleground states. With his approval rating declining to just 33%, the survey signals the president faces an uphill reelection fight.

At 79, Biden already faced questions over his advanced age. Continued verbal gaffes and shaky public appearances have fueled unease about his fitness for office.

The poll indicates Trump remains highly competitive in key states like Wisconsin, Nevada and New Hampshire where Biden narrowly won in 2020. Rising inflation and recession fears appear to be eroding Biden’s standing.

While still early, the survey shows the president’s weak approval rating makes him vulnerable as the 2024 race comes into focus. But there’s ample time for Biden to rebound if conditions improve.

Silverman’s alarm demonstrates even Democratic supporters see the writing on the wall, with Biden’s prospects in doubt given recent struggles. But the president’s defenders maintain he can still turn things around before the next election.

The comedian’s over-the-top reaction pokes fun at liberal anxiety over Biden’s predicament. Though she joked about drastic scenarios, Silverman’s mock panic underscores genuine fears on the left about Biden’s uphill political battle at this stage.
