During the Tuesday night debate on CBS News, JD Vance, running mate for Donald Trump, and Tim Walz, running mate for Kamala Harris, both had their mics turned down. Vance did this to make sure the reporters knew the facts about housing migrants in Springfield, Ohio.
Margaret Brennan said, “There are a lot of Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, who have legal standing.”
Vance began to speak when the moderators began to cut him off. “But Margaret, I think it’s important because— It was against the rules for you to check my facts, but since you are, I think it’s important to explain what’s going on. With the wave of Kamala Harris’s open border wand, you can get legal status on the CBP One app, even if you are an illegal immigrant. You can use it to ask for refuge or parole. That’s not someone who comes in for a green card and waits 10 years.”

Brennan told the senator, “Thank you.”
Margaret thanks Vance for “describing the legal process” as he went on, but finally cut off his mic.
