Watch: Democrats Scared Speechless In Their Own Homes

A guy broke into Democratic LA Mayor Karen Bass’s house while her residents were inside, only one week after Bass boasted during the State of the City speech that her administration had “lowered crime.” A man with a violent past is the primary suspect in this case.

The Los Angeles Police Department reacted to an alert at the mayor’s official house, the Getty House, at around 6:40 a.m. on Sunday. Ephraim Hunter, 29, reportedly shattered a window to get inside the house and could have even gone as far as the second level before the cops showed up.

Hunter is likely to face first-degree burglary charges shortly after his apparent incident-free arrest. His $100,000 bail keeps him detained.

Thankfully, Bass was unharmed, and nothing was taken, even though she was home at the time of the break-in.

“Let me simply state that everything is well with me. My family is doing well. Furthermore, we are going to make every effort to protect Angelenos. At a news conference on Monday, Bass stated, “I think our budget makes major commitments and investments toward making sure Angelenos are safe.”

Given that the suspect in the case has previously been found guilty of a serious felony in Massachusetts, Bass and her family may have struck it lucky. In 2015, Hunter and three other people were charged with using a hammer and another instrument in a vehicle outside of Boston to beat a guy until he passed out.

Ultimately found guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon, Hunter, a native of Massachusetts, received a five- to seven-year sentence. It is uncertain if he completed his sentence. Josephine Duaa, his mother, told the L.A. Times that although he had relocated to L.A. in hopes of starting over, it is possible that he had been “smoking” drugs recently and had grown “scared.”

Duaa stated, “He needs some support.” “He is about to lose his mind; somebody please assist him.”

Bass utilized the subject of crime in her 2024 State of the City speech this week to highlight her achievements as governor. She emphasized, “Homicides and violent crime decreased in 2023.”

“Crime has decreased.”

She asserted that her administration’s focus “on preventing crime and disrupting the cycles of violence” was what allowed for the decline in crime.

Two years ago, when Bass was a congressman and a mayoral candidate, two people broke into her home and stole two guns. Later, CNN reported, the case’s defendants entered a plea of not guilty to burglary and grand theft charges.
