Despite being a lifetime Democrat, comedian Jim Gaffigan completely destroyed his own party in his Al Smith Dinner talk.
To roaring applause, Gaffigan stated, “The Democrats made sure that President Biden could not be here tonight. This presidential campaign has been fascinating, you know. Trump’s reelection is a threat to democracy, according to the Democrats.”
“They actually staged a coup to remove their incumbent and install Kamala Harris because they were so worried about this threat,” he added. “To put it another way, all of her dreams have materialized.”
Even Chuck Schumer laughed at Gaffigan’s jokes because they were so unquestionably true, and Dave Rubin was impressed.
“Comedians are all about saying something true with a twist, then making people laugh and giving them something to think about. Isn’t that what good humor is? Laughter gets someone to think about something,” Rubin explains.
Chuck Schumer smiling at the joke about the Democrats pulling off the coup tells you something, he adds. “If you just run up to someone and say the truth, they may punch you in the face,” he says.
Gaffigan’s quips acknowledged the truth, which was a relief to conservatives, but he didn’t only target Democrats.
Rubin claims, “He ridiculed both Trump and Republicans. It would be reasonable to say that he had Trump Derangement Syndrome just a year ago when discussing the January 6th event with Joe Rogan.”
He continues, “This guy is definitely not a Trump supporter, a Republican, a conservative, or anything else, but here he is mocking the Democrats, and the Democrats don’t even show up.”
