Virginia Democrats are in hot water — and they’ve got no one to blame but themselves.
A bombshell story is going viral after Gov. Glenn Youngkin lit into state Democrats for backing a man who texted about shooting political opponents and killing cops. Yes, you read that right. Jay Jones, a Democrat running for attorney general, is under fire for violent, disgusting messages that should’ve ended his campaign yesterday. But instead of condemning him, Virginia Democrats are standing by with zipped lips and spineless grins.
Check out what Youngkin had to say in this must-see clip:
Now let’s break this madness down.
Jay Jones, a former state delegate and now a Democrat candidate for attorney general, is in deep trouble after text messages from 2022 surfaced. In them, he reportedly fantasized about putting “two bullets” into the head of then-Republican House Speaker Todd Gilbert — and worse, he said he wanted to “see his children die.” And as if that weren’t twisted enough, he allegedly added that “a few cops should die as well.”
Let that sink in. This isn’t some random internet troll. This is a man who wants to be the top law enforcement official in Virginia.
And what did the Democrats do? Did they pull their support? Did they say “this guy’s unfit for office”? Nope. They shrugged and moved on like it’s just another Tuesday.
Even Abigail Spanberger, the Democrat running for governor, refused to back away. During her debate with Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, Spanberger had not one, not two, but THREE chances to withdraw her endorsement of Jones. She didn’t. She called his comments “abhorrent,” which is the political equivalent of saying, “Oops, my bad,” but she still refused to cut ties.
Gov. Youngkin called it like he saw it during an interview on Fox News’ “America Reports.”
“He texted that he wanted to put two bullets in our former speaker of the House’s head and see his children die. And then a few cops should die as well,” Youngkin said. “We have Democrat leaders across the state who are trying to pretend like he didn’t really say this.”
And that’s the real kicker — Democrats are pretending this isn’t happening. They’re hoping voters will forget or ignore it. But Youngkin isn’t letting it slide.
“The reality is Abigail Spanberger… had three chances in a recent debate for her to say that she doesn’t support Jay Jones anymore. And she refused to do it,” he said.
Let’s be clear: if a Republican candidate had said anything remotely close to this, the media would be calling for their head. CNN would be running specials. MSNBC would be crying about “extremism.” But when it’s a Democrat? Crickets.
This isn’t just about one unhinged text message. This is about a Democrat Party that has completely lost its moral compass. They talk about “protecting democracy” while endorsing a guy who dreams about executing political opponents. They claim to support law enforcement while backing a man who allegedly said more dead cops would be a good thing.
This is what happens when you put power above principles. When you care more about winning elections than doing the right thing. And voters are watching.
Youngkin says the race is “swinging hard” — and he’s right. Republicans are fired up, and independents are fed up. Virginians want leaders who support the police, not fantasize about killing them. They want candidates who respect life, not dream about murdering children.
With Election Day closing in, the choice couldn’t be clearer. One side is embracing violence and hate. The other is standing for law, order, and sanity.
Virginia, it’s time to send a message loud and clear: this kind of behavior doesn’t belong anywhere near public office. Get out and vote.
