This week, renowned actor Robert De Niro unleashed another foul-mouthed tirade at former President Donald Trump.
De Niro called the former president a “socio-psychopath” and “malignant narcissist” during an outburst on Jimmy Kimmel, during which the two discussed his new Oscar nomination for Killers of the Flower Moon.
Kimmel remarked, “You and I have something in common: our former President Trump has immortalized us both on social media.”
Kimmel had been alluding to the incident at the Oscars when he read a post from Trump on Truth Social criticizing his hosting performance that evening.
De Niro remarked, “He’s so fucking ignorant. Observe the pathetic things he uttered. He’s so dim that he is incapable of making any intelligent remarks.”
He went on, “He’s stupid, but he’s a terrifying one. All of it is an act in one sense. All of it stems from insecurity. He is quite insecure. He’s a narcissist with malignancies. A socio-psychopath, that’s him.”
The Oscar winner continued, saying he is “baffled” by Trump’s continued support.
“I find that incomprehensible,” he remarked. And it’s something that we’ve witnessed for many years, and he’s a, er, Tammy Faye and the other one.
Following his comparison of Trump to televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker, De Niro referred to the former president as “dangerous” and “frightening.” Then he turned to look critically and angrily at the Republicans.
He remarked, “Shame on those Republicans that do not have the balls or the confidence to go against [Trump].” What do they instruct their children? When it’s documented in history books, what do they tell their grandchildren then about their involvement, what they accomplished, and how they let him achieve this? Even though he is blatantly illegal, they continue to believe him.
After publicly expressing his open worry that the former president would indeed “come searching for” him if reelected, De Niro launched his most recent attack on Trump, which is akin to a delusional conspiracy theory.
“You will no longer be on the show if he wins the election. He’s going to come look for me. On HBO’s Real Time, De Niro stated, “Things will happen that none of us can imagine.”
“Do we want to live in a nightmare or in a world we want to live in and love living in? If you vote for Trump, you’ll live a nightmare; if you vote for Biden, everything will return to normal,” he said.
