President-elect Donald Trump, never one to miss an opportunity to shine a light on the incompetence of his predecessor, took to Truth Social on Wednesday to deliver a fiery—and entirely warranted—rebuke of President Joe Biden. With Los Angeles engulfed in devastating wildfires, Trump sarcastically thanked Biden for leaving him “no water” in fire hydrants and “no money” in FEMA.
“NO WATER IN THE FIRE HYDRANTS, NO MONEY IN FEMA. THIS IS WHAT JOE BIDEN IS LEAVING ME. THANKS JOE!” Trump posted, encapsulating the disastrous mismanagement of resources that has become a hallmark of the Biden administration. Trump’s frustration wasn’t just rhetorical; it came on the heels of stunning reports that firefighters battling blazes in the Pacific Palisades found fire hydrants spouting nothing but air.
Rick Caruso, a prominent California businessman and former Los Angeles mayoral candidate, slammed local government officials, comparing their resource management to that of a “third-world country.” Speaking to local news, Caruso declared, “Our first responders and our firefighters who are trying to battle this—there’s no water in the Palisades. There’s no water coming out of the fire hydrants. This is an absolute mismanagement by the city. There’s no resources to put out fires.”
A Fox LA reporter even captured the chaos on video: firefighters desperately trying to pull water from a dry hydrant. It’s the kind of imagery that screams dysfunction, yet Democrats in charge seem more concerned with lecturing about climate change than ensuring basic emergency preparedness.
Around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, a hydrant firefighters were using on Lachman Lane ran dry. You can hear what sounds like air pushing out, but no water. #PalisadesWildfire #PalisadeFire #PacificPalisades pic.twitter.com/09e6FRrcIM

But it’s not just California’s local leadership that deserves scorn. The Biden administration’s FEMA is essentially running on fumes. After Hurricane Helene hammered the Southeast earlier this year, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas openly admitted that FEMA didn’t have the funds to sustain operations through the season. And why is that? Because Biden’s team managed to blow through nearly half of Congress’s 2025 disaster relief allocation in just eight days of the fiscal year. FEMA’s budget, meant to last through catastrophic storms and wildfires, was almost immediately depleted, leaving the agency scrambling to cover mounting crises.
The estimated losses from the California wildfires could reach a staggering $10 billion, but with FEMA already down to its last pennies, recovery efforts are shaping up to be yet another Biden-era boondoggle.

This isn’t just incompetence; it’s an indictment of the Democratic Party’s priorities. Instead of ensuring basic resources like water in hydrants or a solvent disaster relief agency, the left obsesses over utopian pipe dreams and virtue-signaling policies. Meanwhile, Americans are left to bear the brunt of their failures.
When Trump takes office, the contrast will be night and day. Biden’s “leadership” is defined by excuses and empty platitudes. Trump’s, as always, will be defined by action. The left can mock, whine, and deflect all they want, but one thing is crystal clear: when disaster strikes, Americans need a leader who prioritizes their safety and security—not the latest progressive talking points.
