In November 2022, Tennessee troopers pulled over a Salvadoran illegal immigrant named Kilmar Abrego-Garcia for a routine speeding violation. But what unfolded after that stop was anything but routine. Bodycam footage obtained by Fox News Digital shows troopers quickly realizing they were dealing with something far more sinister than a simple traffic violation. Abrego-Garcia had eight other men crammed into his vehicle, raising immediate red flags for human trafficking.
“He’s hauling these people for money,” one trooper said bluntly. Another trooper expressed disbelief at the vehicle itself, remarking, “I’ve never seen one with that many seats in it.” To make matters worse, Abrego-Garcia was found in possession of $1,400 cash—likely his payment for smuggling these individuals. Even more alarming, a quick check on Abrego-Garcia’s background revealed a warning: suspected gang member or terrorist.
Despite these glaring signs of criminal activity, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) failed to respond when Tennessee’s finest reached out, leaving troopers forced to release Abrego-Garcia back onto our streets. This is precisely the kind of insanity that Americans voted to stop when they restored President Trump to the White House. Under Biden-era policies, dangerous criminals walked free, endangering communities and emboldening lawlessness.
Now that President Trump is back in command, we have a clear mandate to restore law and order. But the lingering damage inflicted by Biden and his radical cohorts continues to haunt us. Just look at this case: Abrego-Garcia not only entered the country illegally, defying a 2019 deportation order, but two separate judges concluded he was likely affiliated with the violent MS-13 gang. He was eventually deported in March, sent back to El Salvador’s Terrorist Confinement Center—but only after months of needless risk to American citizens.
Even beyond the trafficking suspicions, Abrego-Garcia’s record paints a chilling picture of violence and chaos. Court documents from Prince George’s County, Maryland, show a history of domestic abuse. In one chilling 2021 filing, his wife Jennifer Vasquez wrote, “At this point, I am afraid to be close to him. I have multiple photos/videos of how violent he can be and all the bruises he [has] left me.” Yet, under Biden’s open-borders agenda, this violent criminal remained here, unchecked, and free to continue his destructive behavior.
The Tennessee troopers did everything right—but ICE’s refusal to act under Biden’s watch effectively tied their hands.
