Top Dem Lashes Out at Trump – Instantly Regrets it

The House of Representatives censured Rep. Al Green (D-TX) on Thursday after his disruptive outburst during President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress—a move that exposed just how divided and radicalized the modern Democratic Party has become.

In a heated 224-198 vote, ten House Democrats broke ranks with their party and joined Republicans in supporting the censure resolution, which was introduced by Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA). The punishment came after Green shouted down the president during his address, screaming, “You have no mandate!” as Trump delivered his speech to lawmakers. Defiant as ever, Green doubled down afterward, saying he’d “do it again.”

The censure vote turned into a full-blown leftist meltdown. Progressives erupted in protest, breaking into a chorus of “We Shall Overcome” as Green’s resolution was read aloud. Meanwhile, House Republicans fired back, demanding “order” as one enraged Democrat shrieked, “Shame on you!” It was an embarrassing spectacle, but it exposed the Democratic Party’s complete inability to act like adults. House leadership had urged their members to at least attempt to appear “dignified” during Trump’s speech—but that failed miserably. While most Democrats remained seated in silence, a handful of the most radical leftists staged an unhinged protest.

A group of far-left representatives, including Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Melanie Stansbury (D-NM), Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), and Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-CA), stormed out of the chamber mid-speech, ripping off their jackets to reveal shirts that read “Resist” and “No Kings Live Here”—a pathetic stunt straight out of a college protest. Stansbury, in particular, had an embarrassing moment, holding up a paper sign reading “This Is Not Normal” as Trump entered the chamber. Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) wasn’t having it—he ripped it right out of her hands.

With Green’s outburst, the staged walkouts, and open insubordination, the Democratic Party looks more like a far-left protest group than a serious governing party. Their hatred of President Trump has consumed them to the point where they can’t even pretend to be functioning legislators anymore. Meanwhile, Rep. Dan Newhouse made it clear that this wasn’t about currying favor with Trump but about maintaining basic respect and decorum in the House chamber. Green’s antics crossed the line, and even some Democrats recognized that.

But of course, radicals like Green have no interest in maintaining respect for the institution—they’re too busy throwing tantrums for social media clout. The Democrats are imploding under Trump Derangement Syndrome, and this latest meltdown proves it. When even a censure vote turns into a full-blown political freakout, it’s clear that the left has completely abandoned reality. While Trump moves forward with an America First agenda, Democrats are stuck in 2016, still screaming at the sky—and it’s not a good look heading into 2026.
