Swamp Strikes Again: Dems Protect Epstein-Tied Rep

What happens when a sitting member of Congress gets caught cozying up to one of the most infamous predators in U.S. history? Apparently, nothing—if you’re a Democrat and the swamp wants to protect its own.

This story is blowing up online after the House of Representatives voted down a resolution to censure Democrat Rep. Stacey Plaskett of the Virgin Islands. That’s right—Plaskett, who was caught colluding with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a 2019 congressional hearing, just got a free pass. And the reason? A dirty backroom deal.

Let’s break it down.

On Tuesday, things started off like they were heading in the right direction. The House advanced a measure to censure Plaskett and boot her off the House Intelligence Committee. But by nightfall, the swamp struck—and the resolution failed in a 214 to 209 vote. Every single Democrat voted to protect Plaskett. And this part will make your blood boil—six Republicans didn’t stand up to her either. Three voted “present,” and three more actually joined the Democrats.

That betrayal didn’t go unnoticed.

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who’s been leading the charge to hold Plaskett accountable, went scorched earth after the vote. In a blistering post on X (formerly Twitter), Luna blew the lid off the whole thing—exposing a shady deal between House leadership on both sides.

Here’s what went down: To save Republican Rep. Cory Mills from facing his own ethics investigation, leadership agreed to tank the censure vote against Plaskett. That’s right—Plaskett gets away with her Epstein ties, and in return, Mills avoids being investigated over some extremely disturbing accusations of revenge porn and threats against his ex-girlfriend.

Take a look at Luna’s post for yourself:

That phrase—“The swamp protects itself”—says it all. It’s the same old D.C. game: you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. And the American people get left in the dirt.

Let’s not sugarcoat what Mills is accused of. According to reports, he allegedly threatened to leak nude images and videos of his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Langston—a Republican state committeewoman and former Miss United States. She filed for a restraining order back in August, saying Mills threatened to physically hurt anyone she dated and harassed her through Instagram even after being blocked.

A judge granted that restraining order just last month. And yet somehow, instead of facing accountability, Mills got protection from House leadership—just like Plaskett.

Luna didn’t hold back when she took the floor after the vote. “I was wondering if the Speaker of the House of Representatives can explain why leadership on both sides, Democrat and Republican, are cutting backroom deals to cover up public corruption,” she said. “I think we all know what happened tonight.”

And she’s right. We do know. While Republicans are supposed to be fighting to clean up the mess in D.C., too many are still playing the same corrupt games we’ve seen for decades.

This isn’t about party lines anymore. This is about right and wrong. About holding people accountable—no matter who they are. If a Democrat gets caught with Epstein, they shouldn’t walk away scot-free. And if a Republican is accused of threatening women and trying to blackmail them, they should be investigated.

Instead, the swamp circled the wagons. Again.

The American people are tired of it. Tired of the lies. Tired of the games. Tired of watching elites protect each other while justice gets thrown out the window.

If this doesn’t wake up the folks in Congress, nothing will. Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about Plaskett or Mills. It’s about whether we still have a system that works for the people—or one that only works for the powerful.
