Chuck Schumer wasted no time trying to pin Monday’s Delta Airlines crash in Toronto on President Donald Trump, even though the crash happened in Canada. Schumer took to social media, claiming Trump’s FAA policies were to blame because the flight originated in Minneapolis, and the FAA is responsible for inspecting aviation equipment. It was a desperate attempt to create a scandal out of thin air.
To those asking whether it matters that the plane’s destination was in Canada:
The flight took off from Minneapolis. The FAA was still responsible for inspecting the aviation equipment, and Trump just let go of FAA safety specialists. https://t.co/uCpjHtqLnd

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wasn’t having it. Appearing on Fox News, she called Schumer’s attempt to politicize the crash “incredibly irresponsible.” She laid out the facts, stating that no air traffic controllers have been let go under Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy and that the Trump administration is ensuring FAA hires are based on merit, not diversity quotas.
While Biden’s team, including former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, ignored aviation safety for four years, Trump’s administration is actively recruiting the best and brightest to keep air travel safe.
Schumer’s attack on Trump is just another example of the left’s desperation. Trump has yet to make a major mistake in his first month back in office, but that won’t stop Democrats from trying to manufacture a crisis. The problem is that Americans see through it. Trump’s approval ratings are rising, his policies are being implemented, and Democrats are left flailing. Schumer’s absurd attempt to tie an airline crash in a foreign country to Trump’s policies is proof that they have nothing of substance to attack him with.
The Delta crash is still under investigation, but that didn’t stop Schumer from launching a baseless smear campaign. Meanwhile, Trump is focused on making sure America’s air travel is safer than ever. Democrats, once again, are grasping at straws and failing miserably.
