Rubio Rips Media Narrative on Ukraine Live on TV

Marco Rubio just torched the mainstream media on live TV — and he didn’t hold back.

During a fiery appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio slammed host Margaret Brennan for pushing what he called a “stupid media narrative” about Ukraine, President Trump, and the ongoing effort to end the war with Russia. And folks, if you missed it, this one’s going viral for all the right reasons.

Brennan tried to claim that European leaders were rushing to Washington to protect Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from being “bullied” by Trump. But Rubio wasn’t having it.

“That is not true,” Rubio snapped as he interrupted Brennan. “They’re not coming here to keep Zelensky from being bullied.”

And here’s where it gets real — Rubio pointed out that the idea Zelensky is some helpless victim being pushed around by Trump is just nonsense cooked up by the media. “This is such a stupid media narrative,” he said, cutting through the spin like a hot knife through butter.

Let’s be clear: President Trump has been doing what Biden never could — bringing the war in Ukraine closer to an end.

Trump just hosted Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska for a high-stakes summit. The goal? Stop the bloodshed. The war, which began under Biden’s watch in 2022, has seen over two million people killed or wounded. Trump has said all along that the war never would’ve started if he had been in office. Now, as president again, he’s working to fix the mess Biden left behind.

At the Alaska summit, Trump got Putin to agree to major concessions. According to Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, the Russians promised not to take any more Ukrainian land and to respect European borders — all written into their laws. That’s a big deal.

And while a full ceasefire hasn’t happened yet, progress is being made. Trump is lining up another round of talks, this time with both Putin and Zelensky at the same table. That’s the kind of leadership we haven’t seen in years.

But instead of reporting on Trump’s real results, the media is too busy pushing phony stories about Zelensky being “pressured.” Give me a break.

Brennan even brought up a recent heated Oval Office meeting between Trump, Zelensky, and Vice President J.D. Vance. Zelensky apparently mocked the idea of negotiating with Putin, which led to Trump firing back hard.

“We gave you, through this stupid president, $350 billion,” Trump reminded him. “If you didn’t have our military equipment, this war would have been over in two weeks… you don’t have the cards.”

That’s classic Trump — straight talk, no fluff. And he’s right. The U.S. has poured hundreds of billions into Ukraine, and now Zelensky thinks he can play tough guy with the man who’s trying to stop the war? Not gonna fly.

Zelensky left Washington early after that meeting, and a planned minerals deal was delayed — though it eventually got signed. Still, the media spun the whole thing like Trump was the villain.

Rubio shut that down. He reminded Brennan that the U.S. and Ukraine have had dozens of meetings since, and that the Europeans are coming to D.C. not to “protect” Zelensky, but because they’re involved in these talks too.

“We had one meeting with Putin and like a dozen meetings with Zelensky,” Rubio said. “We talked to [European leaders] last week… The President talked to these leaders as early as Thursday…”

In other words, this isn’t some backdoor deal. It’s diplomacy — tough, real-world diplomacy — and Trump is leading it.

So when the media tries to spin it like Trump’s bullying small countries and Rubio’s just along for the ride, remember this: they’re lying to your face. Trump is doing what Biden never could — bringing peace through strength.

And Rubio? He’s not afraid to call out the BS. Good on him.
