Florida is “where woke goes to die,” declared Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in an address during his oath-taking on Tuesday.
Over the previous four years, DeSantis’ government has made a point of opposing the woke indoctrination of children, and the governor claims that this position will not change.
DeSantis claimed that they had “degraded education by putting partisan interest groups’ interests ahead of that of kids and parents.”
He went on:
“Under the pretense of pandemic requirements and limits that lack a scientific foundation, they have imposed medical authoritarianism. Although it claims to act on behalf of justice for the oppressed, this weird but pervasive ideology that underlies these policy actions despises American institutions, disdains success and merit, and promotes identity essentialism.”
“We disapprove of the woke ideology. Normalcy, not philosophical madness, is what we desire. Reality, facts, and the truth will never be optional in our eyes. We won’t ever give in to the global mob.” The governor remarked, to cheers, “Florida is where the woke goes to die.”
He highlighted that Florida has proved that hope is not gone, despite the fact that he claimed federal policies have demoralized many Americans.
“Since the results have been as gloomy as was to be expected, many people are worried about the future of the nation. Even some people claim that failure is unavoidable. Florida is unequivocal evidence that the American people are not doomed to failure,” according to DeSantis. “Rejecting is a decision.”
“Success can be attained. And freedom is worth fighting for,” he continued, calling Florida “the center of freedom” and a “citadel of freedom for our fellow Americans and also for people all around the world.”
DeSantis said, “By steering the ship of state, we elect to traverse the turbulent sea of liberty rather than cower in the quiet docks of authoritarianism.”
“We’ll keep a sharp eye out. We’ll maintain our steadfast faith. We’ll act bravely. We’ll be powerful.” DeSantis concluded his statement by saying, “And we thank God and are proud to be residents of the beautiful free state of Florida.”
