RINO Alert! DeSantis Torches GOP for Sabotaging Trump’s Immigration Agenda

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn’t mincing words when it comes to the Republican-controlled state legislature and their failure to deliver a real crackdown on illegal immigration. Instead of backing DeSantis’ strong plan, GOP lawmakers gaveled out his special session—only to immediately gavel in their own and push through a weak, hollow bill that does little to solve the problem.

Speaking with Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck, DeSantis made it clear: These Republican lawmakers are dragging their feet and fighting against real enforcement.

“They’re not serious about helping President Donald Trump fulfill his campaign promise,” DeSantis warned. And he’s got the receipts to prove it.

Follow the Money: Why Some Republicans Want Illegal Immigration to Continue

DeSantis didn’t hold back, pointing to industries that profit from illegal immigrant labor—and the politicians who protect them.

“I think that’s what these guys are trying to preserve,” he told Beck. “They don’t want real enforcement because it would disrupt their big-money donors who rely on illegal labor.”

But the worst part? State legislators are now pretending to back Trump’s immigration policies while doing the exact opposite.

Take their latest political stunt: They named their weak bill the “Trump Act” to trick voters into thinking it’s a tough-on-immigration measure. In reality, it’s anything but.

DeSantis Calls Out the “Fox Guarding the Henhouse”

One of the most outrageous provisions of the Florida legislature’s bill? Handing immigration enforcement duties to the state’s Commissioner of Agriculture.

“That’s like the fox guarding the henhouse!” DeSantis slammed. Instead of empowering law enforcement, lawmakers are dumping responsibility onto an agency that has nothing to do with border security.

And that’s not all:

No enforcement mechanisms to track remittances sent from Florida to other countries.
No state crime for illegal entry, a key provision in DeSantis’ original proposal.
Weak collaboration with the federal government on deportations and detentions.

Republicans Campaigned on Border Security—Now They’re Caving

DeSantis reminded voters that many of these GOP lawmakers ran on tough immigration policies—only to sell out when they finally had the power to fix it.

“They are not reflecting the values that we all ran on, that Donald Trump got elected on, and that all your listeners believe in,” DeSantis told Beck.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Daniel Perez is making excuses, calling DeSantis’ push for a special session a “stunt”—as if securing the border is just a headline grab.

With Biden’s border disaster worsening by the day, DeSantis is proving that even some Republicans can’t be trusted when it comes to fighting illegal immigration.

Will Florida conservatives hold these lawmakers accountable? That remains to be seen.
