Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a presidential contender, attacked President Biden for attempting to silence his critics, branding it “anti-American.”
Kennedy answered questions on his earlier statement that Biden posed a “far larger threat to democracy” than former President Donald Trump when he appeared on Fox & Friends.
“Incidentally, I mentioned that I could present that case, and I believe it is one that we should be discussing,” Kennedy started. “President Biden has ordered the media, especially the social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Google, to suppress his political opponents—something no other president in history has done.”
“I can say this because I recently prevailed in a case before the Supreme Court in the Federal Court of Appeals because he started censoring me 37 hours after he took the oath of office, vowing to uphold the Constitution,” he recounted. “White House representatives were communicating with Facebook via email, instructing them to remove the user’s post. Facebook retaliated by declaring, “This is not disinformation.” Indeed, everything he is saying here is true, and they had to coin a new phrase to describe it: “malinformation,” which is information that is true but nonetheless awkward politically.
When Madison, Hamilton, and Adams included the First Amendment in the Constitution, they declared, “We put free expression to guarantee the First Amendment because all the other rights are dependent on it.” “If a president has the ability to censor his political opponent, it opens him up to any form of atrocity,” they continued. That poses a real risk to our democracy.
“I believe that what President Trump said about contesting the election—to the extent that he attempted to overthrow it—poses a threat to democracy, but it is not the greatest threat to the First Amendment of our Constitution,” he said, turning back to address Biden. “And then, using federal agencies as weapons to remove his opponents from office—in my case, specifically denying me protection from the Secret Service—that has never occurred in history,” he continued.

Kennedy said, “He has a bust of my father behind him.” It is just not appropriate. We ought to be having a discussion about the inappropriate use of the legal system, prosecutors, and all of these federal officials to alter our political environment. What do you know? With regard to his censorship initiative, President Biden threatened to sue social media firms for antitrust violations and to revoke their Section 230 immunity, which is vital to their business, unless they provided him with a gateway to filter. Whom did he then grant entry to that portal? The IRS, CISA, FBI, CIA, and NIA. Thus, all of these government agencies gained the authority to intimidate and suppress anyone who disagreed with their policies.
He said, “And that is actually anti-democratic and anti-American.”
