Rand Paul: “There’s No Clearer Case Of Perjury”

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) gave an explanation for why he recommended Dr. Anthony Fauci be charged with a crime on FNC’s “Fox & Friends” this week.

The Kentucky Republican claims that the former chief medical advisor had lied to Congress while under oath.

“In the entire history involving government testimonies,” Paul said, “I do not believe there has ever existed a clearer display of perjury. I don’t say that casually. He firmly asserted that this gain-of-function study was never supported by the government. Finally the GAO has acknowledged that the National Institutes of Health funding cage exists. We have Lawrence Tabak, the NIH’s acting director, who has admitted in writing that it originated from the agency. But right now, we actually have the smoking gun. In confidential settings, Fauci is expressing the exact reverse of what he stated in public.”

He said, “We are concerned that the virus has been modified, and we are skeptical because we’re aware they are undertaking gain-of-function research, even though he was publicly assuring me that absolutely, we do not sponsor gain-of-function studies done in China. He then continues by outlining the study, which is precisely the study that the NIH financed. He is thus caught in the act, but our extremely partisan AG Garland is standing his ground. I have thus gone to the local U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C., in an unprecedented move to see whether he will take action.”

“The issue now is that partisans are dispersed across the legal system, and the public is aware of this,” Paul continued. “No matter what you do, if you’re a Democrat, you’re not going to be prosecuted.”
