MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow claimed on ABC’s “The View” this week that if former President Trump is re-elected, there would be no more elections.
According to Maddow, “If you pay attention to what Trump is saying, you shouldn’t view him as a spectacle. Instead, he is essentially outlining a scenario for America in which, should he win reelection to the White House, there won’t be another election. ‘The elections have all been rigged,’ He said that people shouldn’t believe the political process and that Congress should only work for him. He should hire the Justice Department to do his job. That is a strong-man type of government.”
She went on, “He wants to find MSNBC guilty of treason so he can put us to death.”
“There have been numerous senators, governors, as well as members of Congress who have served time in prison,” she said. “It did happen. It’s not bad for democracy, but powerful people often put a great deal of political pressure on the court system in order to let them off.”
Maddow said, “So I’m worried about it, but I would like to find out more regarding our history with these situations so I can better understand how we can handle something that has put so much tension on our system. Do not put criminals in high positions.”
