Newsom Meltdown over Border Patrol Enforcement Mission

Gavin Newsom is throwing a fit again—and this time, it’s over Border Patrol doing their job.

At a rally in downtown Los Angeles, just as Newsom was busy pushing his latest redistricting stunt to help Democrats grab more power, Border Patrol agents showed up outside. They were there as part of President Trump’s nationwide immigration enforcement campaign. And guess what? They arrested at least one person right outside the event. That didn’t sit well with California’s governor.

Newsom called the whole thing “pathetic” and “sick,” claiming it was all a political stunt ordered from the top—meaning President Trump. He even said, “They chose the time, manner and place,” like this was some kind of spy movie. But let’s be real: Border Patrol isn’t staging a theater production. They’re enforcing the law. Something that Newsom clearly has a problem with.

Here’s what happened. Newsom was speaking at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Little Tokyo. Right outside, agents in tactical gear showed up and took someone into custody. And when that happened, the governor and his friends basically lost it. Newsom pointed to them and ranted about Trump, authoritarianism, and how federal agents are somehow attacking democracy.

But here’s the truth: The only people under attack are American citizens dealing with the consequences of illegal immigration. Trump promised to clean up the mess left behind by years of open-border policies, and now he’s delivering. These raids are focused on criminals who shouldn’t be here—people with violent records, not families going to the grocery store.

Of course, Democrat officials rushed to defend the illegal immigrants instead of the law. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called the operation “unacceptable,” saying there was “no danger here.” Really? No danger? Maybe she should talk to the victims of crimes committed by repeat offenders who never got deported when they should have.

The Department of Homeland Security wasn’t having it. A spokesperson fired back, saying their job is to enforce the law, not to cater to Gavin Newsom’s political schedule. DHS made it clear: Newsom isn’t the center of the universe, no matter how much he thinks he is.

Even Border Patrol leaders are speaking out. Gregory Bovino, a sector commander, said, “We’re here making Los Angeles a safer place. Since we won’t have politicians that will do that, we do that ourselves.” Boom. That’s the reality. When the people in charge won’t protect their own cities, someone has to step in.

And let’s not ignore the bigger picture. Newsom wasn’t just giving any old speech. He was pushing a plan to redraw California’s congressional maps—maps that would give Democrats five extra seats in the House. It’s a power grab, plain and simple. All while accusing Texas Republicans of doing the same thing. Hypocrisy much?

Now, the governor is setting up a special election in November to let voters weigh in on the new maps. Call it democracy in action, or call it what it really is: a desperate move to keep Democrats in control after they got booted out of power.

And let’s not forget, this isn’t the first time Newsom has clashed with Trump. Earlier this year, after immigration raids sparked protests in L.A., Trump sent in the National Guard to restore order. Newsom responded—surprise!—by suing the administration. That case is still tied up in court, but the message from Newsom is clear: He’s more interested in fighting Trump than fighting crime.

Bottom line? Gavin Newsom is more upset about Border Patrol doing their job than he is about criminals walking free. He’s throwing a tantrum because federal agents dared to show up while he was giving a speech. Sorry, governor, but the law doesn’t stop just because you’ve got a microphone in your hand.

This is what happens when you put politics over public safety. And the American people are watching.
