Navy’s Monkey Lab in Peru Sparks Outrage

What in the world is the U.S. Navy doing torturing monkeys in Peru—and with our tax dollars?

That’s the question lighting up social media after a bombshell investigation dropped this week from White Coat Waste, the government watchdog group that’s been exposing sick experiments on animals buried deep in the federal swamp. And this time, it’s not just dogs or cats—it’s happening to monkeys. In a foreign country. At a U.S. military lab. And yes, you’re paying for it.

Check this out:

According to the investigation, the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit South—called NAMRU South—is running a high-level bioagent lab smack in the middle of Peru. There, researchers are using a vulnerable species of monkey—Nancy Ma’s night monkeys—for horrifying experiments. These tiny primates are being infected with deadly diseases like malaria, dengue fever, E. coli, and even diarrhea-causing bacteria. All in the name of “science.”

They’re tattooed, caged, and then deliberately made sick. And all of it is paid for with millions of dollars in U.S. taxpayer funding. You read that right—your money is being used to buy, ship, and infect monkeys in a foreign country.

Who thought this was a good idea?

The funding for these twisted tests was launched during the Biden years, and shockingly, it’s still going. White Coat Waste found over $28 million in active contracts from the Department of Defense tied to this monkey lab. Some of that funding is locked in through 2028 unless the Pentagon steps in and pulls the plug.

White Coat Waste’s Justin Goodman laid it out clearly. This isn’t just about animal abuse—it’s about massive government waste and serious risks to public health. This lab handles diseases that are lethal to humans. It’s a Biosafety Level 3 facility. That means if something leaks, it’s not just monkeys at risk—it’s people.

And what’s the benefit? Nothing we couldn’t study in safer, more ethical ways. These experiments aren’t just cruel—they’re dangerous and unnecessary.

The video footage is stomach-turning. You see the monkeys crammed into cages, looking terrified, marked like inventory. And for what? So some bureaucrats in lab coats can play god with exotic animals on the U.S. taxpayer’s dime?

Make no mistake, this isn’t just a science issue. It’s a moral issue. A spending issue. And yes, a national security issue.

Thankfully, we’ve seen what happens when the right people step up. Earlier this year, Navy Secretary John Phelan banned all Navy testing on dogs and cats after WCW exposed similar taxpayer-funded abuse. And just last month, under President Trump’s leadership, the CDC announced it’s shutting down its own monkey testing labs thanks to public pressure.

So here’s the big question: Will the Pentagon do the same here?

White Coat Waste is calling on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary Phelan to end the madness. Cut the contracts. Shut the lab. Stop wasting our money on this disgusting monkey torture program.

As journalist Laura Loomer said, “We MUST shut down the lab and end the funding for this cruel, taxpayer-funded animal abuse at the U.S. Navy!”

And she’s right. We’re not just talking about protecting animals—we’re talking about protecting our country from reckless, dangerous government science experiments that serve no clear benefit.

This story is going viral for a reason. People are waking up. They’re tired of being forced to fund this kind of garbage. And they’re demanding accountability.

So now it’s on the Pentagon. Stop the money. Stop the madness.

We’ll be watching.
