At least, that’s the unhinged fantasy the left-wing media was pushing after Musk’s completely benign hand gesture during the inaugural festivities on January 20.
The horror! The outrage! The proof? Well, there is none, but that didn’t stop the leftist meltdown from reaching a fever pitch.
Elon Musk’s “Nazi Salute” That Wasn’t
Here’s the actual story, stripped of CNN’s hysteria and PBS’s pearl-clutching:
As Musk thanked voters, he said “my heart goes out to you” and made a visual representation of sending his heart out to the crowd.
Totally innocent, right? Wrong!
Cue CNN immediately branding it a “fascist salute”, despite the obvious context. PBS joined in, dutifully regurgitating the claim. Social media bitter-clingers refused to let it go, because apparently, if you squint really hard, were blind to begin with, and desperately need something to be mad about, it could maybe sorta look like a Nazi salute.

Nowhere. Because this was never about the gesture—it was about finding a new excuse to delegitimize Trump and his allies.
Once Musk’s so-called “fascist salute” was revealed to be nothing more than another media-manufactured outrage, the story conveniently disappeared.

Eight years ago, Trump’s first inauguration was treated as a scandal of historic proportions. According to the left, his presidency was illegitimate—brought to you by Putin, Alfa Bank, Facebook ads, Jill Stein, the Proud Boys, and possibly Dr. Wily from Mega Man.
Now, after spending nearly a decade calling Trump a dictator, the left is completely melting down because—whoops!—he won every swing state and even took the popular vote in 2024.
That’s the real controversy. That’s what really has them panicking.
So, what do they do? Fall back on the same tired tricks.
? If you can’t beat Trump at the ballot box, scream “fascist!”
? If you can’t debate Musk’s ideas, brand him a Nazi!
? If you lose a fair fight, change the rules and cry about democracy!
