A mom in Alaska was horrified to discover razor blades attached to a slide located in a children’s park just seconds before her 3-year-old daughter went down it.
According to Felicia Pope, on October 8, she discovered the razor blades while visiting Schroeder Park in Anchorage, AK, with her husband and her daughter Abigail.
She claims that just as her daughter was going to slide down the slide, she hurried to intervene.
The mother said, “I ran even faster than my body would allow me to run. And if you could see this playground, I had to swiftly crawl beneath it, bounce back up, and get her. It was over so quickly.”
Pope claimed her daughter was about to slide into the sharp blades in just a matter of seconds.
“It was made to catch a child at full force while gravity is pulling them down. It was meant to hurt,” she said.
The cops were called by her husband, and when they arrived, they found more knife blades near the playground structure’s stairs. The park has been under closer watch since then.
Pope stated that her family had left the Philadelphia area to live in a safer area away from crime.
“We’re from the East Coast, around Philadelphia.” The mother remarked, “I have heard of kids being murdered by stray gunfire, but I have never heard of somebody placing razor blades on slides. In order to return to more traditional ways of life, we left that region and journeyed four thousand miles to the Last Frontier.”
The police said they don’t have any suspects but are still looking into what happened. Since no one was hurt, the person who did it would only face charges of vandalism if they were caught.
