Megyn Kelly Exposes Jake Tapper’s Hypocrisy in Fiery Exchange

Megyn Kelly just did what so many conservative Americans have been waiting for—she called out CNN’s Jake Tapper for his blatant hypocrisy and shameless protection of Joe Biden throughout his disastrous presidency. Watching Tapper squirm under Kelly’s relentless questioning was nothing short of a masterclass in accountability.

During a fiery exchange on her show, Kelly exposed how Tapper, despite knowing about Biden’s alarming mental decline, failed miserably to hold the former president accountable. Tapper’s own recent book shockingly admits Biden’s White House was plagued by concerns about his cognitive health. Yet, as Megyn Kelly pointed out, Tapper kept conveniently quiet when it mattered most—when he was face-to-face with Biden himself.

“You covered the Biden presidency aggressively throughout the four years, and you didn’t cover mental acuity—hardly at all,” Kelly charged. “Time and time again, when issues came up, you seemed to be running cover for the president.” Tapper, predictably uncomfortable, denied the claim. But Kelly wasn’t having it. She reminded him of Biden’s broken promise to be transparent about his health records—a promise made directly to Tapper—and slammed him for never pressing Biden on the issue.

This is precisely why Americans have lost faith in the mainstream media. Tapper and CNN had the opportunity—indeed, an obligation—to question Biden’s fitness for office. Instead, they chose to ignore glaring, disturbing evidence right in front of their eyes. Who can forget Biden’s infamous September 2022 gaffe, when he asked, “Where’s Jackie?” in reference to the late Democratic Rep. Jackie Walorski, who had tragically died just days earlier? Kelly reminded Tapper he failed to question Biden about that incident during a subsequent interview, despite having the perfect opportunity.

“You didn’t follow up on the fact that he was falling up the stairs, that he was losing his train of thought regularly, that he was slurring, incomprehensible, getting lost on the White House lawn,” Kelly pressed, refusing to let Tapper off the hook. “You sat right across from him and asked none of that—notwithstanding the fact that he had promised you he’d be fully transparent about his health issues.”

Tapper, finally cornered, could only muster an embarrassed admission, “That’s true,” before weakly pointing out that he did ask Biden a general question about his age. But Kelly wasn’t fooled. With razor-sharp precision, she dissected the difference between Tapper’s soft questioning and the real accountability the American people deserved: “You could say, ‘Hey, there’s this poll on your age,’ or you could say, ‘You just forgot that Jackie Walorski was dead.’ You asked where she was moments after watching a videotape tribute to her. You lowered the flags at the White House after she died. This happened 13 days before you sat with him.”

Tapper, confronted by the undeniable truth, finally admitted, “That’s correct. I didn’t. And like I said, I feel humility about my coverage.” But humility after the fact won’t bring back the trust lost by the American people.

It’s refreshing—though long overdue—to see Tapper finally acknowledge his failure, but let’s face reality: CNN and the mainstream media have long been complicit in protecting liberal politicians from scrutiny. Tapper’s admission isn’t enough. Americans deserve better. We deserve a media committed to accountability, not partisan protection.

Megyn Kelly wasn’t done, either. She also confronted Tapper over disparaging comments he once made about Lara Trump back in 2020, when she criticized Biden’s mental fitness. In a stunning moment, Tapper conceded, “Her comments have aged well. My comments have aged poorly.”

Conservatives know this mainstream media bias isn’t an anomaly—it’s standard operating procedure. Tapper’s moments of contrition are welcome but insufficient. President Trump has consistently called out the fake news media, and episodes like this only vindicate his warnings. Americans are tired of being deceived. We’re tired of the Jake Tappers of the media world running interference for failing liberal politicians.

Megyn Kelly’s bold confrontation shows precisely why Americans have turned away from establishment media and toward independent voices willing to speak uncomfortable truths. Jake Tapper should take this lesson to heart—and so should every journalist who has abandoned integrity in favor of partisan loyalty. The American people deserve nothing less.
