Homan Blasts Bishops: Fix Your Own House First

Tom Homan didn’t hold back—and now his fiery response is going viral.

The former acting ICE director and current Border Czar went straight for the throat during a recent interview after Catholic bishops slammed the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies. And Homan had one message for them: clean up your own house before throwing stones.

It all started at the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in Baltimore. There, the bishops issued a sharp rebuke of President Trump’s mass deportation policy, accusing the administration of creating a “climate of fear” and targeting immigrants unfairly. They even went so far as to suggest that illegal immigrants were being denied pastoral care and that sacred places like churches, schools, and hospitals were under threat.

The vote wasn’t even close. 216 bishops backed the statement. Only five said no. Three sat on the fence.

But Homan—never one to back down from a fight—called out the bishops for what he sees as blatant hypocrisy. In a clip that’s lighting up social media, he slammed the Church for lecturing law enforcement while turning a blind eye to its own deep-rooted problems.

Watch the moment for yourself:

Homan didn’t mince words. He reminded the bishops that crossing the border illegally is a crime—and that ignoring deportation orders from a judge is not something America should ever tolerate. According to him, what the bishops are really saying is, “Break the law, stay anyway.”

“So according to them,” Homan said, “the message we should send to the whole world is that if you cross the border illegally, which is a crime, don’t worry about it. If you get ordered to be removed by a federal judge after due process, don’t worry about it.”

He wasn’t done.

In a stinging final jab, Homan threw the Church’s own inconsistencies back in its face. He pointed out that the Catholic Church has extremely strict rules about who’s allowed access to its private facilities—yet they criticize the government for trying to protect the nation’s border.

“If someone walks into the Vatican uninvited, they’ll be stopped. But the bishops want to open our borders to anyone and everyone?” he asked.

And then came the knockout blow: “I think they need to spend time fixing the Catholic Church.”

Mic. Drop.

Homan’s comments hit a nerve. The video is being shared across conservative platforms, racking up views and sparking a new debate about how far religious institutions should go when it comes to lecturing the government on law enforcement. Many are applauding Homan for saying what others are too afraid to.

Let’s be real—this wasn’t just about immigration. This was about standing up to political grandstanding by people who’ve lost a lot of moral authority. The Catholic Church has had its own scandals for decades. And now they want to shame the Trump administration for enforcing federal law?

Sorry, but Homan’s not having it. He’s doing his job—protecting the border, enforcing the law, and defending the country from chaos. If the bishops want to help, maybe they should start by fixing the problems inside their own walls instead of preaching to the people who are actually trying to keep Americans safe.

Bottom line: If you break the law, you face the consequences. That’s not cruelty—it’s common sense. And Homan just reminded everyone that when it comes to border security, the Trump administration isn’t backing down for anyone. Not even the bishops.
