If you’re going to call someone a “racist” and a “traitor,” you better come prepared. One protester found that out the hard way after trying to shout down former ICE Director Tom Homan during a Turning Point USA event in El Paso, Texas.

This clip is going viral for all the right reasons. Tom Homan wasn’t about to let a heckler hijack the conversation. The former border czar was speaking about illegal immigration and the national security crisis at our southern border when someone in the crowd tried to shout him down.
“Racist!” the heckler yelled. “Traitor!”
Homan didn’t flinch. He fired right back, “Call me what you want, I don’t care.” Then he delivered the knockout line that had the whole room buzzing.
“Why don’t you grow a backbone, put a Kevlar vest and a gun on your hip, and go secure this border?”
Boom. That’s how you handle a loudmouth who thinks yelling insults is the same as making a point.
But it didn’t end there.
Later during the Q&A session, things took an even darker turn. The same protester tried to link Homan to the 2019 Walmart shooting in El Paso. That attack, carried out by a White supremacist named Patrick Crusius, killed 23 people and injured dozens more. The shooter had posted a manifesto online that included anti-immigrant rants and references to the so-called “Great Replacement Theory.”
The heckler claimed Homan’s past statements about immigration inspired the attacker. “Patrick Crusius, your everyday conservative,” the protester said, “drove hundreds of miles to our city based on your belief that Hispanics are replacing the White race.”
Let’s pause for a second. This is what the left does. They try to take a horrific act of violence and pin it on anyone who dares to speak out about border security or illegal immigration. It’s disgusting, and it’s meant to shut people up.
Homan wasn’t having it. He calmly responded, “To be honest, what I said was the open border was a mess, and it was by design.”
He’s been consistent on this: the Biden administration left the border wide open on purpose. Why? To bring in a flood of illegal immigrants who will eventually vote Democrat. Homan admitted he doesn’t have direct proof of that, but let’s be real—everybody can see what’s happening.
Biden and his crew handed over the keys to the border. Trump had it under control. He built the wall, empowered Border Patrol, and cracked down on illegal crossings. Biden ripped it all up, and now we’ve got chaos.
And when people like Tom Homan speak the truth, the left calls them “racist.” That’s their only move.
Let’s also be clear: Patrick Crusius is a monster. He pleaded guilty to 23 counts of murder and 90 hate crimes. He’s going to die in prison, as he should. But trying to blame his evil actions on policy experts who want a secure border? That’s not just wrong—it’s dangerous.
This is what conservatives are up against on college campuses. You’ve got people screaming insults, spreading lies, and twisting tragedy to push their agenda. But as long as we’ve got folks like Tom Homan standing their ground, we’re going to keep telling the truth.
Border security is not racism. It’s common sense.
And if the left can’t handle that, maybe they should sit down and listen instead of shouting over everyone they disagree with.
