Feds Arrest Reporter – They Want Something Kept Secret

Republican U.S. Representative Barry Loudermilk (Ga.) informed co-founder of Blaze Media Glenn Beck on Wednesday that Blaze News reporter Steve Baker may be the target of the FBI and the DOJ because “he’s onto something” that the federal government wants to remain secret. This is in reference to Baker’s coverage from January 6, 2021.

Beck brought up the news on Tuesday that GOP House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan had launched an investigation into the DOJ regarding Baker’s arrest on March 1 and was “demanding all of the documents and [internal] communication… to know why this person was treated differently than the NY Times” during his radio show interview with Loudermilk. Will there be any information about this? It’s alarming because nobody thinks that any of this will make a damn difference.”

In response, House Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Loudermilk said he expects the FBI to state that “this is an open investigation, so we can’t supply you with anything.” However, the congressman went on to say that “they may have taken this action because some of the material [Baker] was working on isn’t available for subpoena or to Congress.” One explanation for why they targeted Baker rather than the other journalists is that Baker was right. See, my dad, a World War II veteran, used to constantly remind me that when you were above the target, you bore the brunt of incoming fire.”

The way the federal government is treating Baker “is a red signal to me,” Loudermilk continued, suggesting that “he’s onto something.”

After that, Beck talked about an impending analysis that Baker has been working on, one that Loudermilk is aware of and that might end up being “one of the worst things.” Indeed, Beck stated, “I believe it’s regime-changing if Baker’s research proves it to be accurate. And I deliberately use the word “regime.”

“I concur with you on that,” Loudermilk answered. “People don’t take these drastic steps to hide something that isn’t true.”

After learning about Beck’s interview with Loudermilk on Wednesday, Baker gave Blaze News his analysis of the entire situation.

“This morning, during our conversation with Rep. Loudermilk, Glenn made a reference to an impending item in our series concerning the corruption and leadership shortcomings of the Capitol Police,” said Baker. Furthermore, our Truth About January 6 stories on Special Agent David Lazarus and retired USCP officer Harry Dunn are far from complete. With Loudermilk’s committee, we are still working on those and other ongoing stories. It’s interesting to note that a topic I’ve been following and developing for more than three years crosses with today’s revelation from Judicial Watch regarding CIA assets deployed on January 6. As they say, “The truth is out there,” and many wonderful individuals are still striving to inform the American people of it.”
