FBI Hunts Conservatives Like Animals, But Some Are Fighting Back

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) expounded on the potential congressional inquiry into a double standard used by the FBI and Department of Justice on Sunday on FNC’s “Life, Liberty & Levin” should Republicans take back control of Washington in the 2022 midterm elections.

The Republican from Ohio described the current situation as “frightening” and offered a Select Committee or a subcommittee as potential solutions.

“Whether it’s a Select Panel, a special Subcommittee of the Judiciary, or a committee akin to a church,” he said, “We’re trying to decide what is the greatest method to do this in the most successful manner. Because this is fundamental once more. You must give the Justice Department the kind of attention it unquestionably deserves if it is not treating Americans fairly, is only focused on politics, and has now, in my opinion, been weaponized against Us, the People in order to reform and repair that.”

“Since what is happening is so terrifying, we are committed to take whatever steps are necessary to discover the truth,” Jordan said. “And probably the thing that scares me the most—and I’m sure that your viewers, Mark, and you have discussed this—is that just when you think something can’t be any worse, they turn it up a notch. There is no way that they would ever raid President Trump’s residence, so we never anticipated their doing so. They succeeded. The very following day, they take the Congressman or Congresswoman’s phone. Oh, and guess what we learned about that, too? To the Inspector General they proceeded. The Inspector General took the data off a Congressman’s phone.”

Therefore, he said, “think about what has happened here. According to the statute, ‘independent oversight’ is what the Inspector General and all of these federal agencies are supposed to offer. They inform the Inspector General that the FBI will seize a sitting member of Congress’ phone and ask them to take an image of it. He ought to have asked them, “Are you crazy?” Doing it to a Congressman raises a host of constitutional issues. You must not carry it out. But if you do, I won’t be taking part in it in any manner. And I strongly advise not doing it at all. What did he do instead? Go ahead, we’ll image the phone, he said. That is terrifying.”
