Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has requested information from federal law enforcement into “possible criminal activity” by Hunter and James Biden as part of an allegedly fraudulent business arrangement with a Chinese company.
Grassley, the leading Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has headed congressional Republicans in asking for FBI oversight, resurrecting a slew of whistleblower accusations from protected persons alleging corruption and political prejudice at the agency. The Iowa senator reported in an October 13 letter to the Justice Department and the FBI that his office “had received a considerable number of safeguarded communications from reliable and credible whistleblowers, that have increased following my initial contact to your agencies.”
“Based on recent safeguarded statements to my office, the FBI has significant, impacting, and voluminous evidence in its hands with regards to possible criminal behavior by Hunter Biden and James Biden,” Grassley wrote.
Hunter Biden is being investigated separately for potential tax evasion and making a false statement linked to a weapons purchase, according to the Washington Post.
President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s business operations has been rejected by the White House. But, according to Bobulinski, a 10% share in the enterprise has been kept aside for “the big guy” – Joe Biden.
According to Grassley’s letter, Bobulinski was interrogated by the FBI on October 23, 2020, and gave proof to back up his claims. He wrote to the DOJ and the FBI, wanting to know if an inquiry based on Bobulinski’s statement was ever launched.
“Based on claims presented to my office, Mr. Bobulinski’s information created sufficient foundation to start a full thorough investigation on pay-to-play basis; but, it is unknown if the FBI did so, and whether this material is part of the continuing criminal probe by U.S. Attorney Weiss,” Grassley wrote.
He also asked about more evidence the FBI allegedly has in its possession, such as a document indicating that on May 2, 2017, and May 3, 2017, then-former VP Joe Biden met with Hunter Biden and his business contacts at a convention in Los Angeles. Grassley also inquired about additional documents concerning Hunter Biden’s financial contacts with the Burisma oil company.
“The materials in the FBI’s possession contain precise facts about non-government interactions pertinent to Hunter Biden’s potential criminal activity. These documents also show that Joe Biden was knowledgeable of Hunter Biden’s business dealings and may have participated in some of them,” Grassley penned a letter.
