On camera, a hooded and masked man in Queens, New York, pushed a 68-year-old woman on her way to Sunday Mass backward down the church’s outside stairs. After she fell on her head on the pavement, he grabbed her car and pocketbook.
According to WNBC-TV, surveillance footage in the Briarwood neighborhood shows the victim a short distance from the front entrance of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. The footage shows the suspect trailing the victim up the other side of the stairs, meeting her on the top step, and pushing her back.
The victim hit her head, according to the station.
Following that, the guy went through her pockets, took her purse, escaped, and then took her 2006 Nissan Altima, according to WNBC.
Absurd. My eyes did not seem real to me. Observing what he inflicted upon this woman,” St. Demetrios Rev. Konstantinos Kalogridis informed the station. She was attending church in order to participate and pray. I have no idea what type of person this is, but it seems evil. utterly wicked
Parishioners assisted the woman and transported her to a hospital, according to WNBC.
It is a marvel that the woman survived the attack, according to Kalogridis, who paid her a visit on Sunday.
He told WNBC, “She is in stable condition.” She is “such a nice person,” he said. She is a rather modest, reserved individual.
The station stated that detectives have been hunting for evidence between 152nd Street and 84th Street and that police are still seeking the suspect.
“My advice is for him to submit to the police and repent for this awful sin he committed,” Kalogridis told WNBC. This is her straightforward message to the assailant. Confession and submission — execute them as quickly as you can.”
