Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg claimed roads are racist during a briefing this week in an example that shows Democrats are willing to place the race card on any issue when it serves their purpose.
Of course, roads weren’t racist until Democrats couldn’t get an infrastructure bill passed. It was only in 2021 that the left has suddenly been enlightened and taken an interest in the discrimination dominating our roadways.
Who knew we needed to pay to tear down racist bridges? Who knew that bypass divided black and white and Hispanic people from moving forward in life?
But now that the left has taken charge of transportation, it’s all about making things right for the LGBTABCDEFG+ community and the indigenous BIPOCWXYG+ groups of the nation.
But there are not enough letters in the alphabet to make sense of what Mayor Pete is pushing on this one. Sure, discrimination exists, but the infrastructure bill is about roads, not racism.
Instead, maybe the left could put together a plan that could address something else bothering those on American roads, like maybe rising gas prices? It doesn’t take an expert economist to figure out that if you close pipeline and oil production in our nation and have to import oil from other locations in the Middle East, it’s going to cost more.
Maybe if we called gas prices racist then Buttigieg or Biden would care. But maybe not. You just have to see the nonsense to even believe our nation’s leaders are now more concerned about racist roads than the real problems facing America.
