You know a Democrat’s gone too far when even the cackling hens on “The View” take off their blue-tinted glasses long enough to call her out.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), the loud-mouthed freshman from Texas best known for screaming her way through congressional hearings and playing to the far-left gallery, found herself in hot water over the weekend. And for once, even her cheerleaders in the liberal media couldn’t save her.
While speaking at a Human Rights Campaign event—because where else would a progressive Democrat be caught spewing bile—Crockett referred to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has used a wheelchair since a freak accident in 1984, as “Governor Hot Wheels.”
Yes, seriously. And no, this wasn’t a slip of the tongue.
“Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there—come on now!” she said, before adding, “The only thing hot about him is that he is a hot a– mess, honey.” Classy.
Shockingly, the ladies of “The View”—not exactly known for their moral compass or conservative-friendly takes—actually condemned the remark.
Sara Haines, often one of the more level-headed co-hosts, said Crockett’s insult was “beneath her.” Alyssa Farah Griffin, the show’s token centrist, chimed in, “It’s never okay to mock a disability.” Even Joy Behar, queen of the double standard, muttered, “Not a good idea.”
Whoopi Goldberg did her usual “let’s all be careful” bit, which was honestly more diplomatic than deserved. Sunny Hostin tried to offer cover by claiming she didn’t know about Abbott’s disability, but even she had to admit that Crockett—who’s served in Texas politics—definitely should have.
But the real kicker? This wasn’t a one-time gaffe. Crockett has made similar jabs at Abbott multiple times. In a now-deleted post, she mocked Abbott “rolling up” to the White House. In another dig, she asked, “Where is Abbott rolling to?” during his 2022 re-election campaign.
This isn’t about “bad phrasing” or “a joke gone wrong.” This is a pattern. And despite the damage control from her chief of staff—who laughably claimed her words were “misinterpreted”—the receipts say otherwise.
In a classic non-apology, Crockett later posted on X (formerly Twitter), claiming she wasn’t “thinking about the governor’s condition” and that her “hot a– mess” remark was aimed solely at his migrant policies. Sure, Jasmine. Because every Texan knows “Hot Wheels” is a totally neutral nickname.
Let’s be clear: if a Republican had mocked a disabled Democrat—say, a conservative rep calling Senator Tammy Duckworth “Wheelchair Tammy”—the media would be on a 24/7 meltdown. The censure vote would be immediate. Hollywood would be filming the Lifetime dramatization before dinner.
But because it’s a progressive Democrat taking a swing at a conservative governor, the left hesitates, gaslights, and asks us all to “understand the context.”
Where’s the moral high ground the left pretends to walk on? Where’s the outrage from HRC, the ACLU, or any of the “compassionate” liberal think tanks? Nowhere to be found. Because to them, you can say just about anything—as long as your target has an ‘R’ next to their name.
Despite their rare moment of clarity, even “The View” hosts opposed any censure vote for Crockett. Why? Because holding Democrats accountable is always “too extreme.”
No, what’s extreme is a member of Congress belittling a disabled man’s condition and pretending it’s just another punchline. Governor Abbott is a Vietnam-era survivor of a debilitating accident who has spent his life in public service—tougher, smarter, and more resilient than half of Congress combined.
Rep. Crockett has made it clear she’s not interested in respect, decency, or dialogue. She’s interested in applause lines and Twitter clout.
Texas deserves better. America deserves better. And if Democrats can’t clean up their own party, then voters will do it for them come November.
