It is a win for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, after legislation he put in place last year in April, paid off after the arrest of 20 individuals who were involved in voting illegally during the 2020 Presidential Election.
Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties were the locations where most of this took place, and the perpetrators could face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
“Although there are others in other parts of the state, these folks voted illegally. In this case, and there’s gonna be other grounds for other prosecutions in the future,” DeSantis said. “They are disqualified from voting because they’ve been convicted of either murder or sexual assault and they do not have the right to vote. They have been disenfranchised under Florida law, and yet they went ahead and voted anyway.”
“They are being charged with election fraud. This is a third-degree felony in the state of Florida.”
“We want the federal government to be working constructively on this, and so far, that has not been the case. We have an obligation to make sure that U.S. citizens are voting,” DeSantis said.
Republicans have an opportunity to turn things around this coming November, when the Midterm Elections happen, and the Democrats will undoubtedly do as much as they possibly can to push themselves over for the win – which includes cheating.
Nothing is more important than the people having confidence in their elections and it would be nice to see other states being as pro-active as DeSantis.
