There’s no way to sugarcoat what happened in Cincinnati. A woman named Holly went out for a night with friends—and ended up unconscious on the pavement after being savagely assaulted by a mob. The video footage is horrifying. The photos she released this week, showing her face battered and bruised, are worse. But perhaps most disturbing of all is the reaction—or lack thereof—from the city’s so-called leaders.
Cincinnati is an amazing and spectacular City. It deserves political leadership that matches the greatness of its citizens.@AftabPureval issues a late/weak statement, Police Chief blames social media (not the lack of almost 200 officers), Prosecutor @ConniePillich lets off… pic.twitter.com/6BzfO48m4G

This wasn’t just a random act of violence. This was a breakdown of law and order in broad daylight—or more accurately, under the cover of night, while police were nowhere to be found. In the viral video, we see a man being pummeled by a group of black individuals, and when Holly tries to intervene, she’s surrounded, punched in the face, and knocked out cold. Nobody steps in. Nobody stops it. And according to the Cincinnati Police Chief, only one person bothered to call 911. That’s not just a failure of policing—it’s a failure of community.
But instead of taking responsibility, the people in charge are pointing fingers. Police Chief Teresa Theetge blamed bystanders and bar owners. Let that sink in. The top cop in a major American city watched a mob roam the streets—beating innocent people—and decided the real problem was that not enough people called the cops. You can’t make this up.
And it gets worse. Cincinnati’s Mayor Aftab Pureval waited days to issue a statement—and when he did, it was weak, late, and devoid of any real leadership. The Democrat prosecutor, Connie Pillich, let the attackers off the hook with $400 bail—pocket change for thugs with no respect for law or life. And perhaps most shamelessly, City Councilwoman Victoria Parks actually blamed the victims, writing on Facebook that “they begged for that beat down.” This is the same Democrat Party that claims to stand for the vulnerable and oppressed. Apparently, that protection doesn’t extend to women like Holly who get in the way of the mob.
Republican Senator Bernie Moreno, to his credit, is doing what Democrats won’t: naming names and demanding accountability. “Cincinnati is an amazing and spectacular city,” he said. “It deserves political leadership that matches the greatness of its citizens.” He’s right. What’s happening in Cincinnati is not just a failure of policing—it’s a moral collapse, driven by cowardice and ideology.
This is what happens when Democrats spend years demonizing police, excusing criminal behavior, and prioritizing social justice narratives over actual justice. When you defund the police—Cincinnati is down nearly 200 officers—you make every street corner a potential war zone. When you treat criminals like victims and victims like suspects, people like Holly pay the price.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about one city. What happened in Cincinnati is the natural result of policies we’ve seen in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and beyond. It’s the same script: weak leadership, soft-on-crime prosecutors, and a political class more interested in virtue signaling than protecting citizens. And it’s everyday Americans—people like Holly—who suffer the consequences.
This is why law and order must never go out of style. We can’t have safe communities without strong policing. We can’t have justice if we’re afraid to call evil what it is. And we can’t let radical leftists redefine crime as culture or blame society for the actions of violent individuals. It’s time to stand up and say enough.
President Trump has made it clear from day one: America is a nation of laws. If local leaders won’t enforce them, they need to be replaced. The good people of Cincinnati deserve better. So do we all.
The images of Holly’s injuries are a wake-up call. Not just for Cincinnati, but for every town and city in this country. Because if we allow mob rule to go unpunished, if we excuse barbarism in the name of politics, then we’re surrendering the very civilization our forefathers built. And that is something we must never allow.
