According to Daily Wire writer Megan Basham, who just published her book “Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda,” evangelical leaders are cashing in on the LGBTQ agenda.
“On “Relatable,” Basham informs Allie Beth Stuckey that there are groups posing as ministries but actually receiving financing from left-wing, secular LGBT lobbying groups. One such group is the Arcus Foundation.
Established in 2000, the Foundation is the biggest LGBTQ grant maker in the nation.
“The Arcus Foundation began by asking, ‘How can we alter church theology in conservative ministries and in conservative denominations?’ and that is exactly what they accomplished,” according to Basham.
She says, “They’re introducing this curriculum.” “I think many churches aren’t aware that activists are instructing them to change their theology on this issue.”
Pastor Andy Stanley recently delivered a sermon, and Stuckey mentioned that he knows of one particular pastor who has welcomed this development.
According to Stuckey, “He essentially stated that homosexuality is distinct from other sins, as claiming that homosexuality is a sin implies that an individual’s identity is a fault. This perspective on identity and sexuality is completely unbiblical.”
Additionally, a well-known figure has been pressuring the church to adopt a left-wing agenda. Who? It’s George Soros.
Basham explains to Stuckey, “About 2013 or 2015, they realized that they needed to move the evangelical vote on this topic if they wanted to get some of these immigration policies, what I would call very lacking border policies, across the finish line. His foundation began funding a secular-left immigration NGO called the National Immigration Forum.”
Thus, they formed the Evangelical Immigration Table, which Basham refers to as a “front group,” in collaboration with the National Association of Evangelicals.
“To be quite clear, the goal is not to preach to illegal immigrants.” Basham clarifies, “It’s not to feed and clothe them regardless of how they got there.” “It is very policy-oriented.”
These groups have also seen significant involvement from organizations such as the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the ERLC.
“They all became engaged with this outfit,” Basham explains, “that operates under the auspices of a secular left immigration non-profit, receiving funds from donors such as George Soros for this program that was created with the express purpose of going after conservative voters, particularly evangelicals.”
