Biden’s National Address Turns Into An Embarrassing Mess

Joe Biden, who withdrew from the presidential contest over the weekend, finally surfaced this week, following a number of extremely perplexing days. Looking quite weak, the president gave a speech to the country from the Oval Office, purportedly explaining his sudden withdrawal as the Democratic Party nominee.

Unfortunately, and maybe predictably, Biden gave almost no information. Indeed, the statements he made and his apparent deteriorating health only served to heighten the tension between him and Kamala Harris. In reality, who is the president? If he is not eligible to seek another term in office, why is he still there?

In essence, Biden claimed that he dropped out to “unite my party” because he is such a fantastic president and capable of serving a second term, which highlights the ridiculousness at play. This is all nonsensical.

If you listen closely, he appears to be acknowledging that influential people and contributors like Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama drove him from the race. Why wouldn’t his own party rally around him if his record was really outstanding and he was as qualified for a second term as he claims? And why wasn’t he the most qualified individual to “preserve our democracy”?

This is offensive to American voters. Biden owed them an open and sincere explanation for his abrupt withdrawal from the presidential contest, which resulted in the loss of tens of millions of primary votes. Instead, he made the decision to continue deceiving the country by claiming that he is fit to serve but that he must leave for reasons that are entirely unclear.

We are all aware of the truth, of course. He resigned because he could not serve as president for the next four years due to mental and physical limitations.

Finally, in an effort to appease the Democratic base, Biden supported term limits for the Supreme Court.

There is nothing that more embodies democracy and resisting oppression than trying to reorganize a court that renders decisions against your will. That is the stuff of dictatorships in the Third World, propagated out of the Oval Office. Disgusting is a useful word to use.

Having said that, nothing in this speech addressed the concerns about Biden’s health or the people who have supported and helped him, most notably Kamala Harris. She does own this, therefore, we need to make her own it.
