Biden’s ATF Nominee Fails to Define an ‘Assault Rifle’

President Biden’s pick to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is a gun control activist who can’t even define what an “assault weapon” is.

Blaze TV brings a humorous and frightening clip of nominee David Chipman questioned by American Senators.

In addition, Chipman believes the AR-15, the most popular rifle in the nation, should be banned.

In Chipman’s discussion with Sen. Tom Cotton, he defined an “assault weapon” as, “Any semi-automatic rifle capable of accepting a detachable magazine above the caliber of .22.”

That would include nearly every major sporting rifle in America.

Yes, Chipman is a gun control advocate. He was nominated by the Biden administration, so this should not be surprising.

Biden does realize this is a nomination for the director of the ATF, doesn’t he? The F is not for failing, but for firearms.

But Chipman certain did fail to clearly define an assault weapon. Rifles? Handguns? Semi-automatic? Not sure about anything, or so it seems.

By the way, Cotton nails the issue in the conclusion: “I think our exchange here illustrates that there really is no such thing as an assault weapon.

“That is a term that was manufactured by liberal lawyers and pollsters in Washington to try to scare the American people into believing that the government should confiscate weapons.”
