Biden Under Fire For Putting A “Price On American Heads”

In a story on NBC News, it was said that doctors are having trouble telling the difference between COVID and the usual allergies or the common cold. Online commenters made fun of the lefty news site, with many saying that the news came out three years too late.

In a story that came out this week, NBC News said that COVID symptoms are becoming more like those of the common cold and allergies.

“Doctors say it’s getting harder for them to tell the difference between COVID and allergies or the common cold, even though the number of hospitalizations is going up,” the story started.

“The disease’s old symptoms, like a dry cough or losing the ability to taste or smell, are happening less often,” NBC News said. “Instead, doctors are now seeing diseases that are less severe and mostly affecting the upper respiratory tract.”

Dr. Grace McComsey, vice dean for clinical and translational research at Case Western University, estimates that 10-20% of her COVID patients are losing their sense of taste or smell currently, compared to 60-70% earlier in the epidemic.

“These aren’t the usual signs we had observed before.” Dr. Erick Eiting, vice chair of emergency medicine at Mount Sinai, described the condition as “a lot of congestion, occasional sneezing, and usually a mild sore throat.”

“Nearly every patient I’ve encountered has had relatively mild symptoms,” said Eiting. “We were only aware it was Covid because we were testing them at the same time.”

Doctors say that people who have COVID usually have congestion, headaches, tiredness, muscle aches, fever, and chills, along with post-nasal drip.

Dr. Dan Barouch, who runs the Center for Vaccine and Virology Research Medical Center, which is located in Boston, stated to NBC News that, “Overall, COVID is much less severe than it was a year and two years ago. It isn’t as though the variations aren’t as strong. It’s because the defense system responds better.”

People on the X social media site criticized NBC News for taking so long to figure this out.

Jeremy Redfern, a spokesman for DeSantis, said, “NBC is so close to getting it.”

“COVID doesn’t seem to be that big of a deal,” according to health policy analyst Pradheep J. Shanker.

Ian Miller, a writer, said, “COVID is such a serious danger that it needs new boosters without thorough clinical testing, but it’s also hard to tell apart from the common cold.”

Kyle Lamb, a researcher for DeSantis, said, “Again, fake ‘experts’ post about cases, but real doctors aren’t finding serious disease anywhere, or it’s very rare when they do. There’s no longer a big problem. There is not a need for booster shots, and even if there were, it hasn’t been shown that they would help.”

Steve Guest, a conservative expert, said, “Doctors say it’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between Covid and allergies. It took NBC three years to get this story out.”

Writer Rupa Subramanya said, “There is no way to tell the difference between COVID and the average cold or allergies. It looks like science has finally caught up with ‘conspiracy theorists,’ who were really right all along that COVID was just a normal cold.”

Actor Matthew Marsden: “Over the past four years, the very same doctors have not been able to tell the difference between real science and nonsense.”

“This is scary,” wrote writer Meghan Maureen. “How will I know for sure if my coughing is caused by ragweed or by the scariest virus ever known?”
