During a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the White House, President Joe Biden commended the “model citizens” who are illegal immigrants and have applied for and qualified for DACA, a program that former President Obama established.
Following the expansion of Obamacare to DACA illegal aliens, Biden stated his intention to provide amnesty to all those eligible for the Obama-era program, not just DACA enrollees.
Millions of undocumented immigrants would be able to get green cards and become citizens under this proposal. In his defense of DACA, Biden compared the undocumented immigrants to “model citizens,” who are similar to American citizens.
“We established [DACA] twelve years ago, and the first measure I filed was to ensure that individuals had a… straight route to citizenship,” Biden stated of DACA.
It has permitted 800,000 DREAMers to attend school and work in the United States, allowing them to share their great abilities. However, about one-third of DREAMers were unable to secure health insurance. It is incorrect. With this regulation, everything changes. Health insurance is now available to DREAMers, as it should be. Like I mentioned before, I sent a comprehensive immigration reform package to Congress on my first day in office. It opens up more official channels for families and businesses to enter the country. In the one place they have ever called home, DREAMers can find methods to become citizens.
I adore it when someone asks, “Why dreamers?” What if a two-year-old child said to their mother, “Mom, it is against the law for you to carry me over the Rio Grande?” Please, cut me some slack. Everyone here has been an exemplary citizen.
With the words, “The appropriate thing to do is to keep pushing forward until we get it done,” Biden urged Congress to “act” in order to enact amnesty.
According to a 2017 Breitbart News article, between 10 and 19 million foreign people would be able to enter the United States as a result of a DACA amnesty, which would allow newly naturalized citizens to bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives.
By expanding access to Obamacare to newly authorized illegal immigrants, a previous Breitbart News study estimated that a DACA amnesty could cost American taxpayers almost $115 billion. Meanwhile, $26 billion is what the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has pegged as the price tag for taxpayers under such an amnesty.

According to the same CBO analysis, if an amnesty were to occur, at least one in seven DACA illegal aliens would enroll in Medicaid, and almost one in five would wind up on food stamps.
A 2013 CBO study of the “Gang of Eight” amnesty plan predicted that wages for American workers would “somewhat” decline. Immigration has “pushed lower” the salaries of relatively low-skilled individuals already in the nation, regardless of their birthplace, according to a 2020 CBO report.
