Biden Team In Shock Over New 2024 Poll

A CNN poll released Wednesday found that 59 percent of Democrats choose somebody other than President Biden to be the party’s 2024 contender.

Only 59 percent of those who prefer another Dem. to Biden say they will “certainly” vote for him if he is the party’s nominee in 2024. Only 28% indicated they would “probably” vote for Biden.

Overall, 86 percent of respondents stated they would support or are likely to support Biden if he were the party’s nominee in a 2024 race.

72 percent of those who want someone else over Biden had no specific choice, highlighting the Democratic Party’s succession quandary.

Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg (5%) was cited as a possible replacement for Biden, as was California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) (4%), Senator Sanders (I-VT) (4%), Vice President Kamala Harris (3%) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) (2 percent).

Biden’s favorability rating is higher than that of the two most likely rivals to Biden. Biden has an 83 percent favorability rating, with 11 percent opposing him. Newsom’s favorability rating is 45 percent positive, with 9 percent unfavorable, whereas Harris’ favorability rating is 66 percent positive, with 14 percent negative.

Only 70% of Democrats feel Biden, the Democratic Party’s current leader and sitting president, should get a second term, while 28%, or more than a quarter of the party, don’t really feel Biden deserves another four years at the age of 82.

Fifty-six percent of those under the age of 35 believe Biden should have a second term. Eighty percent of Democrats over the age of 50 feel Biden deserves another term. Overall, only 62 to 37 percent of voters say Biden deserves a second term.

From December 1 to 7, 1,208 Americans were polled, with a margin of error of 3.6 percent.

A CNBC/All-America Economic survey released on Friday found that 57 percent of Democrats are opposed to a second Biden candidacy, which is two points lower than the CNN poll.

The poll also discovered that Biden’s age is a serious concern:

“According to the poll, 47% of the people who believe Biden should not run cite age as a major consideration, including 61% of Dems. and 66% of seniors. In comparison, only 43% of those aged 18 to 49 said age is a big factor. Last month, Biden turned 80.”

If Biden is re-elected in 2024, he will be 86 years old when he leaves office.

According to polls, 58 percent of Americans feel he should be subjected to at least a cognitive test. Only about a quarter of voters say Biden is mentally well, healthy, and stable.
