When chaos erupted on Bourbon Street in New Orleans during New Year’s celebrations, Americans watched in horror as a truck plowed into revelers, leaving 15 dead and dozens injured. The suspect, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, an Army veteran and U.S. citizen from Texas, reportedly carried out the attack while armed with a Glock and a .308 rifle. Authorities later discovered an ISIS flag in his vehicle, leading to the FBI officially declaring the event a terrorist attack. But not before they fumbled the narrative in spectacular fashion.
Initially, the FBI’s New Orleans field office assured the public that the attack was “not a terrorist event.” This absurd proclamation was contradicted moments later by New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, a Democrat, who admitted the obvious: this was an act of terror. As if on cue, the FBI backtracked, releasing a statement that they were indeed investigating it as a terrorism-related incident. So, which is it? The only thing consistent here is the inconsistency.
The FBI in New Orleans’ initial statement:
“This is not a terrorist event. What it is right now is improvised explosive devices that was found.”
Why on earth is the FBI using Orwellian language on what is an obvious terrorist attack.

Senator Marsha Blackburn wasted no time blasting the FBI for their botched response. “The fact that a reporter has better intel than the FBI tells us all we need to know,” Blackburn posted, calling for Kash Patel’s confirmation as FBI Director. The sentiment echoed across conservative circles: America needs leadership that prioritizes security over political correctness.
The FBI should be focused on fighting criminals and terrorists.
Instead, the agency has wasted valuable resources hosting DEI seminars, investigating churchgoers, and raiding President Trump’s home.

And where was President Biden during all this? Offering his usual hollow platitudes about resilience and “never being defeated,” as if words could undo the carnage or reassure a nation growing weary of such events. Trump, by contrast, didn’t mince words, pointing squarely at Biden’s open-border policies as a contributing factor to this disaster. He took to Truth Social to declare Biden “the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA,” and who could argue otherwise?
The left’s obsession with appeasement and virtue signaling has left America vulnerable. The FBI’s incompetence in handling this tragedy is just the latest example of an institution that needs a serious overhaul. With every failure, it becomes clearer: it’s time for real leadership, not feel-good rhetoric. And let’s be honest—only conservative policies can restore the law, order, and security this nation desperately needs.
