In an interview with CBS, an IRS special agent supervisor has now spoken out about influence in a case in which he was engaged. According to Gary Shapley, he had to raise the alert because he was so worried about how the Department of Justice was handling the matter.
According to CBS, the case Shapley is referring to is the Hunter Biden case.
In a letter to Congress this week, Shapley’s attorneys alleged “irregularities” in how the probe was handled.
In an interview with Jim Axelrod of CBS News, top investigative journalist, Gary Shapley, a 14-year veteran of the Department of Justice, said: “There were numerous steps that had been slow-walked — were just entirely not done — at the direction of the DOJ. As soon as I assumed charge of this specific inquiry, I noticed alterations to the usual workflow. It was significantly different from other experiences I’d had.”

“Every single time, it appeared to always be beneficial to the subject,” according to Shapley. “It just reached the stage when the switch was turned on. And I was just unable to suppress my conscience any longer.”
